So I could cry about this and tell you all about how much debt I am now in or how the skate industry is run by douchebags or all other reasons the shop didn't work, even if all of this stuff is true... We had a great time trying to make a great skateshop...
Again, I wanna thank you all and the city of Goteborg, for letting me live my life long dream! It was, all in all, a great day... I am glad that so many of you could come and hangout to say goodbye with me. And big up to Jesper and the Mighty24 on a super good video... See you when I see you... Skate today, Gone Tomorrow... Peace! -JakeLewis
Today is your viewing and I can't be there but I just wanted to say that I don't just miss you now that your gone. I have been missing you for a long while. For years we skated on a daily basis and hung out every night. You were one of the prodigies that is not supposed to have any problems in life but we all know that is seldom how things go in real life.
We joked and clowned a shit load. Went places and have times that I will never ever forget! You and Scaps are the direct reason that I am in another country, with out even knowing it, you guys started me on a different path in life and it was super simple but I thank both of you for that.
It was a long time ago that we spoke and now this is the only way I can talk to you. It is selfish of me to think about the good times we had, knowing that you were going through tough shit. I wanna always remember that shit, the house and Scaps car that turned into a Bum's Summer home... All of the years of skating, laughs and tears... I have, and will continue to miss you. Rest in Peace J.R. Neves!!!
So, if you live and skate in GBG and don't know about the Mighty24K, then your sleeping! The Movie is about to be done but check the trailer!!!! dig that shit!!!
So the homie, Chriss Mulhern is doing the video "This Time Tomorrow", I think I might have told yall about it... He has been filming all over and I am, personally hyped to see his LOVEpark footage... Apparently, people have been; skating, filming, shooting fotos and generally, killing LOVE park again. This might have something to do with the fact that there were almost more murders in Philly, then days last year and the P.P.D. are not so concerned with skateboarding...
Which brings us to the fact that I was Flikring LovePark an ended up seeing finding a bunch of homies and people that I used to skate with... Big ups to Brian Dale, seen here pusing on the levels...
True with a heel infront of the sign.... The true reason I was so hyped to see flicks of the park is cause PTNC Crüe member, Jake Hanitschak, has sent over a 'One and Done' from some filming that he has been doing (when he is not on the other side of the lense), from the 'bottom' ledges that are like 70cm high (Jake is about 188 tall so it might look small)... Jake At Love 2009 from jerklewis on Vimeo.
He sent this to me last night... then this morning I get to the shop and receive a little love from Tokyo...Yoshio, at BigWig Dist., shot me over a copy of the new Traffic Skateboards video... and MAN ALIVE that was just what an injured skateboarder did not need! To watch a really great vid and know that you can't go skate, is litterally, insult to injury...
Anyway, the video started with Ricky at in front of the LOVE fountain... I was Psyched!
So in case you didn't know, HessenMob is a crew from Germany and they, DO THINGS! I have been keeping tabs on the since the Philly days and the good people at SkateNerd started to deal with them on some B.I.
I have just watched the documentary that they have up for download... I related so much to this, it seemed like my whole lot of my life throughout skateboarding and the creative world is in here, maybe you'll find where you are in there...
